Cake Knife
Cake knives are designed specifically for cutting cake, their aim is to get you the perfect slice of cake, with minimal crumbling and damage. Very often a coordinating cake server accompanies a cake knife.
Several things set cake knives apart from other knives. The first point of difference is the blade of the knife, which is long which enables it to easily cut through cakes of all sizes. They very often have a slightly curved blade, which facilitates easy cutting.
A cake knife usually has broad serrations on a straight blade otherwise it could potentially ruin the crumb of the cake. The blade itself is also relatively thin and lightweight so that it does not damage the cake in any way when it is being cut.
